Island Empanada Pt: 2

Just finished up work for Island Empanada's second location. The owner asked me to do the lettering on his chalkboard menu boards, and throwing caution to the wind, I told him I would do them. I got right to work researching on the best way to map out the menus and do the lettering for the boards. There are 3 of them, and two small "Pick-Up Here" and "Order Here" slate signs that I did lettering on. To start, I used a white charcoal pencil to layout the lettering and have everything written down correctly before I went in with the chalk markers. I used Craftsmart chalk ink markers and my own Chalk Ink brand markers to do the lettering on the signs. I used painters tape and a ruler to measure everything out and make guidelines ( I tend to write in an upward slant). I was rather impressed with myself over the final product, considering I had never done something like that before!

Here are some photos of the finished mural and the signs:

Current Project...

Currently working on a second mural for a local empanada restaurant that will be opening in a few weeks! Although I am painting pretty much the same Puerto Rico map, the dimensions have changed slightly, and I have made small changes to certain things like the color of the lettering and amount on towns on the map itself.
